Civic Fuel Door Release Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Honda Civic Hybrid experienced a fuel door release failure, accompanied by an error message and other malfunctioning car functions. The issue was identified as a defective linkage, possibly involving the fuel door lock actuator or an electrical fault. The suggested solution was to consult a workshop, which confirmed the defective linkage and resolved the problem, restoring the fuel door's functionality.

Thanks! When you say 'lock actuator', do you mean some sort of motor that physically pushes the door open? Or is it just a sensor? And what do you mean by electrical fault in this context? Like a blown fuse or something more serious? Is it something that can be fixed DIY?

Yes, the lock actuator contains a small motor. An electrical fault could mean anything from a loose connection to a dead actuator. In my case, I ended up taking it to the workshop. I suggest you do the same before you make the issue worse.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was indeed a defective linkage, costing me 210€ for the repair, but now the fuel door works like a charm again!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Civic. Is the release button completely unresponsive? Maybe try checking the fuel door lock actuator, could be an electrical fault.
