Civic Sunroof Not Initialized Error
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Honda Civic owner experienced a 'not initialized' error with the sunroof, causing it to malfunction. The issue arose after aftermarket lights were installed, which required modifications to the car's computer system. This likely caused a conflict with the sunroof control module. The solution involved taking the car to a workshop to re-initialize the sunroof, resolving the problem successfully.

Yes, actually. I had some aftermarket lights installed, and they needed to tweak the car's computer for them to work properly. Is that definitely what's causing the sunroof problem?

It sounds very likely. With my BMW, the new coding messed with the sunroof control module. You'll probably need to take it to a workshop that knows about these things. They should be able to re-initialize the sunroof or fix the coding issue.

Thanks! I took it to a shop, and they re-initialized the sunroof as you suggested. Cost me 75€, but it's working perfectly now!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 Series. The sunroof acted up after some work was done on the car's computer. Did you recently have any coding or modifications done to your Civic's system?
