Clarity unlocking and starting issues
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Honda Clarity owner is experiencing issues with unlocking/locking and starting the engine, suspecting a connection to the bumper antenna. Another Clarity owner suggests that these symptoms likely indicate antenna trouble, possibly due to a loose or corroded connection. The recommendation is to inspect the antenna mount near the bumper for frayed wires or corrosion and consider professional repair if unsure about handling it personally.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is the antenna mount located? And what should I look for in terms of corrosion or damage? I am not too savvy with cars, sorry for the newbie questions.

No worries, we all start somewhere. The antenna mount is typically near the bumper, where the antenna cable connects. Check the cable and plug connection; it's a common weak point. Look for frayed wires, green gunk (corrosion), or a loose fit. The likely cause of the issue is a defective cable or plug connection of the component. If you are not confident working on it yourself, I suggest taking it to a workshop. They quoted me around 95€ for the repair the last time.

Thanks a lot for your help! I'll check the antenna connection, but I will probably bring it to a shop for a professional diagnosis and repair. Your information was very helpful. Thanks!

Sounds familiar. I've got a Clarity as well, and those symptoms scream antenna trouble. Have you checked the antenna mount and connection? A loose or corroded connection can cause havoc with the car's system. It's like a loose wire on an old radio, you know?
