Clio AC Temperature Sensor Error

Thanks! It makes sense about the sensor disabling the AC. I haven't checked the sensor yet – I don't know where the heat exchanger is on this Clio! Is it easy to access, or will I need to dismantle the engine bay? If the wiring is okay, can I test the sensor, or should I replace it?

Given the symptoms and error code, a defective AC control unit is likely. Inspecting the sensor and wiring is a good first step, but full diagnosis needs specialized tools. Consult a qualified technician to avoid misdiagnosis or damage. A defective control unit may need replacement or reprogramming. Professional diagnosis is recommended, considering the potential costs.

Okay, I understand. It's beyond my DIY skills. I hoped for a simple sensor swap, but I'll book it into a workshop. They quoted 980€ for the job, including parts and labor. Thanks for the advice!

The temperature sensor error in the heat exchanger can disable the AC. Modern climate control systems use many sensor inputs. An implausible signal from this sensor may stop the compressor to protect the system. Check the sensor and wiring for damage or corrosion.
