Clio Airbag Warning Light

My 2004 Renault Clio diesel is giving me headaches. The airbag warning light is constantly on, and the car only has 49271 km on it! I've wiggled some wires under the seats, but no luck. Could it be a faulty airbag sensor? Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar airbag issue with my Clio. The cable or plug connection of the component was defective. Have you checked the crash sensor connections?

Crash sensor connections, eh? Where exactly are those located? Is it a pain to get to?

Yes, the crash sensors. In my case, it turned out to be a loose connection. While I managed to temporarily fix it, I'd strongly advise getting it checked professionally. These things are related to car safety, and it's not worth the risk. You could end up with a defective restraint system.

Thanks! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a loose connection in the airbag system, just like you said. They sorted it out for 95€, much appreciated!
