Clio Blower Motor Failure

My 2018 Renault Clio with a gasoline engine is giving me trouble. The fresh air blower has completely stopped. No air circulation, and the climate control is useless. I've checked fuses, but no luck. The OBD scanner shows an error related to the blower motor. I'm guessing the motor is shot with 219273 km, but has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what else I could check? Could it be the fan speed controller or wiring?

Summary of the thread

The 2018 Renault Clio's fresh air blower has stopped working, rendering the climate control system ineffective. Despite checking the fuses, the issue persists, and an OBD scanner indicates a blower motor error. Possible causes include a faulty blower motor, a malfunctioning fan speed controller, or wiring issues. Suggestions include checking the resistor pack, which controls fan speed, and consulting a professional mechanic for a thorough diagnosis and repair.

I had a similar problem with my Clio! Also no air flow and the system was dead. I don't know if it's exactly the same issue, but did you check the resistor pack for the blower? It controls the fan speed. If that goes bad, the blower might not work. Or, it really could be a dead blower motor, as you suspect.

The resistor pack? Where is that located, and is there a way to test it without just replacing it? I'm trying to avoid throwing parts at it blindly. Also, when yours failed, did it throw a specific error code, or was it more generic?

Honestly, I'm not sure where it is – I'm no mechanic. But I remember reading it’s somewhere near the blower motor itself, probably under the dashboard. As for the error code, I don't remember it. I took it straight to my local garage. They diagnosed it quickly. Might be worth a visit to a workshop before messing around too much.

Okay, appreciate the input! Sounds like my best bet is to take it to a shop. I was hoping for a quick fix, but I guess some things are better left to the pros. They reckon its the blower motor and quoted 365€ to replace it. Thanks again!
