Clio diesel reduced power rough idle
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Renault Clio diesel with 108,000 km is experiencing reduced engine power, increased fuel consumption, and rough idle, possibly due to an issue with the fuel line. A suggestion was made to check the fuel filter heater, as similar symptoms were resolved by addressing corroded connections to the heater. Upon inspection, damaged cables were found, and after repair, the vehicle's performance returned to normal.

Fuel filter heater, eh? I hadn't thought of that. How did you figure that out? And what exactly was wrong with it?

Mine was a bit of a saga. Eventually, a buddy who knows his stuff pointed out the connections. Turns out, the cable and plug connecting to the heater were corroded, causing all sorts of havoc. I'd suggest checking those connections first. If that doesn't do it, I think I would consider taking it to a workshop.

Thanks so much for the tip! I checked the connections to the fuel filter heater, and you were spot on! The cable was damaged. A quick trip to the workshop and 95€ later, and it's running like new. Thanks again!

Sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot. The symptoms you describe… reduced power, rough idle… I chased a ghost for weeks! Turned out to be the fuel filter heater. Does your error code point to anything specific there? Maybe worth checking!
