Clio diesel reduced power rough idle

Having trouble with my 2007 Renault Clio diesel. It's got about 108,000 km on the clock. Recently, I've been getting an error message, the engine power feels reduced, and it's just not responding like it used to. My fuel consumption has also gone up, and the idle is really rough. Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe something to do with the fuel line?

Sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot. The symptoms you describe… reduced power, rough idle… I chased a ghost for weeks! Turned out to be the fuel filter heater. Does your error code point to anything specific there? Maybe worth checking!

Fuel filter heater, eh? I hadn't thought of that. How did you figure that out? And what exactly was wrong with it?

Mine was a bit of a saga. Eventually, a buddy who knows his stuff pointed out the connections. Turns out, the cable and plug connecting to the heater were corroded, causing all sorts of havoc. I'd suggest checking those connections first. If that doesn't do it, I think I would consider taking it to a workshop.

Thanks so much for the tip! I checked the connections to the fuel filter heater, and you were spot on! The cable was damaged. A quick trip to the workshop and 95€ later, and it's running like new. Thanks again!
