Clio Emergency Call System Error

My 2017 Renault Clio diesel is throwing an emergency call system malfunction. Error is stored, message on the dash, and warning light's on. Already checked the usual suspects, any ideas? Could a defective cable or plug connection really be the culprit? Mileage is at 169952 km.

Sounds familiar. Had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, though it was the infotainment system acting up. Did you happen to scan it for any specific diagnostic codes? Might point you in the right direction. Or could be related to the control module. Have you tried a system reset?

Yeah, scanned it – points towards a hardware issue with the emergency call module itself, or as suspected a cable/plug. System reset didn't do the trick. Your Astra, was it definitely a similar SOS signal error?

Affirmative. Same SOS error, different module causing it. In my case, it was a faulty connection to the antenna. Since you've already tried a reset and the codes point to a hardware problem, might be best to get a workshop to check the wiring and the module itself.

Cheers, appreciate the confirmation. Dropped it off at the shop; they're quoting 95€ to fix the cable/plug. Hopefully that'll sort it.
