Clio Engine Start Problem

Having trouble with my 2011 Renault Clio petrol. 148k km on the clock. Sometimes, when I turn the key, nothing happens. Other times, it starts, but then cuts out randomly while driving. And, if it actually manages to stay running, it runs super rough. I've checked the battery connections and looked for any obvious fuse issues relating to the ignition, but didn't find a defective fuse. Has anyone experienced anything similar with their Clio? Driving me mad!

Sounds familiar. Had similar issues with my older Opel Astra a while back. Exact same symptoms. Did you check the car electronics?

Thanks for getting back to me! When you say car electronics, what specifically are you referring to?

I had a faulty ignition switch that was the main reason for all the issues. It caused engine shut off, and rough running. It might be that you have to go to a workshop.

Took your advice and had the ignition switch checked at the workshop. Turns out that was indeed the culprit. Cost me 52€ for the switch and fitting. Seems fine now. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
