Clio exhaust temperature sensor fault

I've got a 2012 Renault Clio with a gasoline engine. Recently, the check engine light popped up, and the car feels like it's lost some power. Also, it seems like my fuel consumption has gone up. I scanned the codes and it points to a faulty exhaust temperature sensor. Anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar issue with my Clio. The symptoms sound very familiar. Have you checked for any leaks in your exhaust system? That was the root cause in my case.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't specifically looked for leaks, but I will. Where exactly should I be checking? Any specific areas that are more prone to leaks?

Given the symptoms and the sensor code, a leak could indeed be the culprit. I'd suggest inspecting the exhaust manifold and the joints along the exhaust pipe. However, if you're not comfortable doing it yourself, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. It cost me around 265€ including parts and labor to get mine fixed. It's best to get it sorted quickly to prevent further damage.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I appreciate the detailed info about the potential cost, I'll check for the leaks and if nothing obvious is found, I'll take it to a workshop. Will post the resolution if I solve the issue.
