I glanced at the air intake, but didn't see anything obvious. Which sensor was it on your Clio, and how did you fix it? Was it difficult to get to?

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure which exact sensor it was - it was a while ago. But I remember the mechanic saying it was the charge air temperature sensor. I wouldn't recommend tackling it yourself unless you really know what you're doing. Best bet is to take it to a workshop and have them diagnose the connections properly.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to my local mechanic, and it turned out to be a faulty connection on the charge air temperature sensor, just as you suspected. New connector and all is fine now. Cost me 95€, not too bad!

That sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my Clio a while back. Same hissing sound and loss of power. It also turned out to be related to some sort of air sensor. Did you check the air intake system for any obvious cracks or loose connections before running the diagnostic?
