Thanks! I'll take a look. When you say 'problematic', what exactly do you mean? Were the wires brittle, or was the plug loose or corroded? Any specific areas to focus on?

In my case, the plug was corroded and one of the wires was partially broken. Check the pins for corrosion and give the wires a gentle tug to see if they're properly connected. If not, you will need a visit to the workshop. My problems were exactly the same and my bill was 100€ (including the sensor).

Thanks a lot for the advice! I had a look at the plug and cable and they are indeed faulty. I'm going to get the sensor and the plug replaced. The workshop quoted me 95€ for everything, so that's reassuring. Seems like the most likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection.

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my 2016 Opel Astra. The outside temperature reading was way off, and it messed with other systems. Have you checked the wiring and the plug connection to the sensor itself? They are known to be problematic.
