Clio Oxygen Sensor Issue

My 2001 Renault Clio diesel has a stored error, check engine light, and higher fuel consumption after 225645 kilometers. Could this be the oxygen sensor, or something else?

A bad O2 sensor on an older Clio could cause those symptoms! Have you checked the wiring and connectors? A loose or corroded connection can throw things off. Do you have the error code number? Is the car running rough, or just using more fuel?

I've checked the wiring and connectors as best I can. I don't have the error code right now, but I'll get it soon. Could a bad cable or plug really be the problem?

A dodgy connection can mimic a faulty sensor! Like a loose lightbulb that flickers. But the sensor itself might just be old. Get it checked by a professional to be sure. They'll have the right tools.

I went to a workshop. They found a defective cable or plug connection related to the oxygen sensor, like you said. The repair was 95€ Thank you!
