Clio vibrating power steering

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2020 Renault Clio diesel with 230306 km. Recently, the power steering has been acting up. The steering wheel vibrates and shakes, and the handling feels really spongy. I had the error memory read and there was a stored error. It's also become harder to steer, feeling like the power steering is failing intermittently. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Could it also be the wheel alignment or the steering rack itself, or the steering pump or even the pressure hose? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Clio. The steering felt really off, and it was definitely harder to turn. I would get it checked soon if I were you.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say "similar issue", do you mean the vibrating steering wheel and the increased effort required to steer? Do you remember what the cause was in your case?

Yeah, exactly that. Vibrating and much harder to steer. I didn't try to fix it myself, though, I just took it straight to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly.

Okay, thanks for confirming. I'll take it to a workshop, too. It turned out it was a defective plug connection, and the repair cost me 95€. Thanks again!
