Clipper check engine light and smoke

Thank you for your input. I'm not sure if it's running rich, I would need to check the emissions. Can a defective crankcase ventilation really cause all those symptoms?

Yes, a faulty crankcase valve can definitely cause all of those symptoms. The valve is there to relieve pressure. If it's stuck open, you get a leak, affecting idle and emissions. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop soon.

I appreciate the advice. I'll schedule an appointment with my mechanic to inspect the crankcase ventilation valve. I will post here with the solution once I have it. It sounds like it will cost me around 360€

I had something similar happen with my Clipper. Check engine light, rough idle, and a bit of smoke. It could be a leak in the crankcase ventilation, which can mess with your air-fuel mixture. Does it also seem to be running rich?
