CLK Alarm System Fault

My 2010 Mercedes CLK diesel, with about 234784 km, has an anti-theft alarm malfunction. The error memory shows a fault, and the car alarm doesn't work. Diagnostics suggest the alarm system is coded to activate optical locking. Has this happened to anyone?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I have a CLK too, and I had a similar thing happen. My security alarm would just randomly go off, especially after a power failure. Did you check your immobilizer?

Thanks for the response. Can you elaborate on the immobilizer check? Were there any specific tests or observations you made?

Well, I'm no expert, but it might be worth taking it to a workshop. That's what I did when my car alarm kept giving me false alarms and they sorted it out. It was a similar thing, messing with the car alarm system. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I had the vehicle inspected, and the coding for the alarm system's optical locking was indeed the cause. The system was reset, and the error was cleared. Total cost was 45€. I appreciate your help.
