CLK Engine Stalls After Fuel Filter Replacement

Thanks for the quick reply I did scan for codes, and it's pointing towards the fuel regulator. I triple-checked the fuel filter install, and the fuel pump sounds normal. But could a faulty fuel pump trigger the fuel regulator code indirectly? And how would I test fuel pressure on the fuel rail?

It's possible the fuel pump is weak and triggering a fuel regulator code. Though, if the code directly mentions the fuel regulator, it's more likely the culprit. I'm not sure about testing fuel pressure without proper tools. Considering the engine misfire and fuel system involvement, you might want to take it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis. It could save you some headaches.

I took it to the shop, and it was indeed the fuel pressure regulator. Apparently, the code was accurate. New regulator installed (cost me 45€), and the car runs great again. Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it

I had similar issues with my CLK, but I didn't change the fuel filter. Check engine light, rough idling. Have you scanned for error codes? Could be the fuel pump not delivering enough pressure to the fuel rail, causing engine misfire. Did you make sure the fuel filter was installed correctly, with the correct flow direction? Is the fuel pump making any unusual noises?
