CMAX Electrical Issue

Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked the voltage while it's running, but I will do that first thing tomorrow. The battery is probably three years old, so it shouldn't be ancient. If the voltage is off, what's the next thing to check? Could it be the starter motor or ignition switch?

If the voltage is incorrect when running, the alternator is not charging the battery correctly. A faulty reading indicates a deeper problem. While the starter motor or ignition switch could contribute, I would recommend having a workshop diagnose the charging system first. Ignoring an electrical fault can be like ignoring a small leak; it will only get worse and more expensive.

Thanks so much for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right. Turns out the battery needed replacing. Total cost was 290€. It's starting like a champ now! I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.

I had a similar issue with my CMAX. It sounds like a charging system fault. Have you checked the voltage across the battery when the engine is running? It should be around 14V. Also, when was the battery last replaced? A heavily discharged battery can cause all sorts of strange electrical problems. Think of it like a clogged artery in your car's electrical system.
