CMAX Engine Running Lean

I've got a 2013 Ford CMAX with a gasoline engine, currently sitting at 133378 km. Recently, the engine's been running lean. I'm experiencing reduced power, the check engine light is on, rough running, and some jerking when I accelerate. I suspect it might be a defective fuel injector. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Hey! I had something similar happen with my CMAX. Check engine light was on, and it felt like it was struggling to get up to speed. Have you checked the mass air flow sensor? That was the culprit for me. Also, might be worth cleaning the throttle body and checking the spark plugs. Could also be the EGR valve. Just some thoughts before you dive into replacing injectors.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say similar, was it the exact same symptoms? And how did you pinpoint the mass air flow sensor? Any specific tests did you run?

Yeah, pretty much the same symptoms. The check engine light was the big giveaway, and I had a noticeable drop in power. A local shop ran a diagnostic and the code pointed to the mass air flow sensor. Honestly, I'd suggest getting it checked out professionally. Could save you a lot of guesswork and money in the long run.

Appreciate the info! Took it to my local shop and you were spot on, a defective injection valve was indeed the problem. Cost me 515€ to fix. Thanks again!
