Cobalt parking aid malfunction
Summary of the thread
The parking aid system on a 2014 Chevrolet Cobalt is malfunctioning, with an error stored despite checked fuses. Possible causes include issues with the proximity sensors or the control module. A suggested solution is to inspect the wiring and connectors for corrosion or loose connections, particularly around the sensors. If the problem persists, professional assistance may be required, as a similar issue was resolved by repairing a defective plug connection.

When you say wiring and connectors, do you mean taking the bumper off and checking each sensor connection? Or is there a central connector somewhere that's easier to get to?

I had to check each sensor connection individually for corrosion or loose connections. If you're not comfortable doing that, it might be worth taking it to a workshop. That's what I did, and they sorted it quickly.

I appreciate the advice! I'll get hands-on. If I can't find anything, I'll take it in. The fault was a defective plug connection. Repair cost 95€.

I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot 308. The parking sensors went haywire. Did you check the wiring and connectors to the sensors themselves? Sometimes those can get corroded, especially where they salt roads in winter.
