Yes, I see some tiny imperfections, like minuscule bubbles, under the gel pad near the sensor. Does that mean that's the problem? Do I need a new windshield, or is there another fix?

That sounds like exactly what happened to mine. Those bubbles interfere with the sensor's ability to read the light properly. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They'll be able to confirm the issue and advise on the best course of action.

Thanks for the help. I went to a workshop, and they saw the bubbles under the gel pad. They replaced the sensor for 62€, and it fixed the problem. Your advice helped a lot.

I had a similar problem with my Cobalt. The rain-light sensor went haywire. Do you notice any visible imperfections or cloudiness on the windshield around the sensor?
