Colorado engine stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Chevrolet Colorado with 172,913 km is experiencing poor starting, engine stalling at idle, and a persistent check engine light. The initial suspicion was a faulty camshaft sensor. After further investigation, it was confirmed that the issue was related to a defective camshaft encoder wheel, which was subsequently repaired.

Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked for engine misfires specifically. How did you figure out it was the crankshaft position sensor on your Megane?

For me it was just a lucky guess after testing several sensors. But based on your symptoms, specifically the check engine light combined with stalling, it may be worth having the camshaft encoder wheel checked out if you don't find anything obvious after sensor testing. I ended up just taking mine to a trusted workshop.

Appreciate the help! Turns out it was indeed related to the camshaft. The encoder wheel on the camshafts was defective, causing all the problems. Got it fixed for 695€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

I had similar issues with my old Renault Megane, though it was a diesel. Check engine light, stalling… turned out to be the crankshaft position sensor in my case. Could also be ignition timing. Have you checked for engine misfires?
