Colorado injection system issue

I'm at my wit's end! My 2023 Chevrolet Colorado with a gasoline engine is exhibiting some frightening symptoms. I've only clocked 54698 km! It feels like the injection system is giving out, resulting in higher fuel consumption, a noticeable reduction in engine power, and the engine stalls at idle. Furthermore, it produces smoke upon acceleration! Could this be a defective cable or plug connection?

That sounds rough. I had similar symptoms with my 2018 Opel Insignia, although it was a diesel. Have you checked for any obvious air leaks in the intake?

Air leaks, you say? Could you elaborate on where exactly I should be looking for those on my Colorado? Any specific areas to focus on?

On the Insignia it was around the intake manifold gasket. If you aren't comfortable inspecting the intake system, I'd bring it to a workshop.

Thanks for the input. Turns out, a defective plug connection to the injector was indeed the culprit. A simple replacement set me back only 95€. Consider the case closed!
