Coolant issue with Mercedes R Klasse

My Mercedes R Klasse, build year , engine type Diesel, has a check engine light and an error about insufficient coolant. I've checked the radiator cap, head gasket, radiator hoses, and water pump, but can't find a leak. What else should I investigate before taking it to a workshop? The radiator fluid itself seems fine.

Low coolant issues can be hard to find. Have you pressure tested the system? A small leak might only show under pressure, like a hairline crack in a hose or the radiator.

That's a good point. How do I perform a pressure test, and what tools do you recommend? I've done it before, but want to be sure for this model.

I'd suggest a workshop do the pressure test, given the risk of complications. With the error code already there, they can diagnose it correctly. A small leak can quickly cause overheating and more damage.

I agree. The risk of misdiagnosis isn't worth the cost savings. I'll book a workshop appointment for a pressure test and diagnosis. Thanks for the help in avoiding a bigger problem. The bill was 95€ for a defective cable.
