Coolant Leak Peugeot

I've got a 2007 Peugeot 1007, diesel engine, with 122943 km on the clock. Lately, the check engine light keeps popping up, and the computer's throwing an error. Coolant level is way too low. I topped it off, but the light came back on after a few days. Any ideas where to start looking for a leak? I'm not super mechanically inclined, but I'm willing to try some basic stuff before taking it to a shop.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. Check engine light and everything. Coolant disappearing, but no obvious puddles. Turned out to be a tiny leak in the water pump. It was so small that the coolant was evaporating before it hit the ground. Is your cooling fan running more than usual?

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check the water pump. About the cooling fan, how can I know when it runs more than usual? What should I check on the water pump, any obvious signs?

Well, if you hear the cooling fan kicking in really often, even on cooler days or short trips, that could be a sign the engine is running hotter than it should. As for the water pump, look for any signs of dried coolant around it. It often leaves a crusty, reddish or whitish residue. Honestly, though, if you're not comfortable poking around too much, it might be best to get a mechanic to pressure test the system. It's a quick way to find small leaks.

Took your advice and brought it to a workshop. Turns out it was a leaky hose connecting to the radiator, like you suggested with the water pump. 52€ later, and the Peugeot is running smooth. Thanks for the help!
