Corolla Insufficient Heating
Summary of the thread
The heating in a 2021 Toyota Corolla was insufficient, and a diagnostic check indicated a defective water valve. The issue could potentially be caused by faulty cable or plug connections, but other factors like a blocked heater core were also considered. However, since the engine temperature was normal and there were no coolant leaks, the water valve was identified as the most likely culprit. The workshop confirmed the water valve defect, and the repair resolved the issue.

Thank you for your response. The engine temperature appears normal, and I haven't noticed any coolant leaks. Could a partially blocked heater core also contribute to these symptoms, or is the water valve the more probable culprit?

A blocked heater core could cause similar issues, but since you've got an error code pointing directly at the water valve, I'd put my money on that being the problem. With no overheating or coolant loss, connections are less suspect. Get it checked, those valves can stick. Workshop time, I think.

Understood. I appreciate the clarification. The workshop confirmed that the water valve was indeed defective, and the repair, including a new valve, came to 95€. Thanks again for your assistance.

Low heat and an error code for the water valve, eh? Yeah, the connections are always a good first place to check. They can corrode or loosen up over time. But has the engine been running hotter than normal? Any coolant leaks?
