Corolla Overheating and Control Unit Error

I'm having trouble with my 2004 Toyota Corolla with a gasoline engine. The engine is overheating, the check engine light is on, and there's coolant leaking, suggesting high pressure. Diagnostics point to a control unit communication error, possibly a cable or plug issue. The car has 57791 km. Anyone else seen this?

Hey, I drive a Corolla too, and that overheating thing sounds familiar. Did the check engine light throw any codes? I had a similar issue where the engine was running hot, and it turned out to be a connectivity issue somewhere. Might be worth checking those connections you mentioned.

Could you give me more details about the connectivity issue you had? Do you remember any specific diagnostic trouble codes?

Sure thing. I can't remember the exact code, but it pointed to a data link problem. Honestly, I'm not super tech-savvy. The shop said something about a software glitch messing with the control module. Cost me about 95€ to get sorted. Probably best to get yours checked out.

Thanks for the help. That's really useful, and I'll get it checked by a technician soon. Hopefully, it's the same fix.
