Corsa uneven running and jerking

My 2001 Vauxhall Corsa with a gasoline engine is giving me a fright. It has 220425 km on the clock and runs unevenly, the check engine light is on, and there's an error stored. It also jerks when accelerating. Could this be related to the crankshaft sensor or perhaps the timing belt?

Hey, I had similar issues with my Corsa. Rough idle and jerking, plus the check engine light. Did you check for any exhaust leaks? That was my problem.

An exhaust leak, really? I hadn't considered that. Where exactly was the leak in your system? Any chance it could also be fuel injectors or the oxygen sensor?

Yeah, exhaust leak. I couldn't pinpoint the exact spot myself. I took it to a workshop and they found it pretty quickly. Save yourself the headache and get it checked out. It might be an exhaust leak.

Thank you for the helpful advice! I took your suggestion and brought it to a mechanic. Turns out it was indeed a leak in the exhaust system. Repair cost me 265€. The car runs smoothly again. I appreciate your help!
