Countryman passenger seat adjustment issue

Alright, so the passenger seat adjustment in my Countryman diesel is dead. Error memory says something's up, but seat won't budge. Been reading that a weak battery can cause issues with the power seats. Anyone else had this?

The error memory indicates a problem with the electrical seat adjustment on your passenger side. Considering the age of your Mini Countryman and mileage, a discharged or defective battery could indeed be the culprit. Before replacing the battery, may I suggest checking the seat wiring harness and connectors under the seat for any signs of damage or corrosion? Also, have you tested the seat switch itself for continuity?

Cheers. How would I check the seat wiring without buggering something up?

Given your concern about potentially causing further issues, it might be prudent to consult a qualified mechanic. Diagnosing electrical faults, especially within the seat wiring and seat switch, often requires specialized tools and expertise. A workshop will be able to test the components properly and determine if the discharged battery theory is correct before performing any repairs.

Just wanted to close the loop on this. Turned out it was a faulty seat switch after all. Local garage sorted it for 290€. Appreciate the help.
