CR-V Hybrid Electrical Chaos: Multiple Systems Failing

Hey all, experiencing multiple electrical issues with my 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid. Several systems are acting up simultaneously, general electrical malfunction warning, dead nav system, and warning lights on the dash. I suspect it might be related to the Flex-Ray bus system. Has anyone dealt with similar symptoms in their CR-V? Looking for feedback on what your mechanic found and how they fixed it. Appreciate any insights!

Hey there! I have some experience working on hybrid vehicles. Actually, I went through something very similar with my 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid last year. The symptoms you're describing sound exactly like what I experienced, multiple systems going crazy at once. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty cable connection in the main electrical harness. My mechanic found corroded pins in one of the main connectors, which was causing all sorts of weird electrical gremlins. The fix wasn't too complex, but finding the exact issue took some diagnostic work. Cost me around 155 Euro to get it sorted, including labor. Since then, everything's been working perfectly. Before I share more specific details, could you tell me if you're getting any specific error codes? Also, have you noticed if these issues happen more when the car is cold or after it's been running for a while? This info would help me understand if you're dealing with the same problem I had.

Thanks for sharing that experience! Yeah, I've got about 139015 KM on my CR-V and just had it serviced last month, so this electrical issue really caught me off guard. I'm noticing the problems mostly occur after the car's been running for about 15-20 minutes, but haven't pulled any error codes yet. Been meaning to get my OBD reader out of the garage. Your harness issue definitely sounds similar to what I'm experiencing. Was your mechanic able to spot the corrosion right away, or did it take some digging? Really hoping it's something similarly straightforward and not a major hybrid system problem. Kinda nervous about the repair costs since these electrical gremlins can be tricky to diagnose.

Hey again! Glad to help follow up on this. Man, when you mentioned the issues showing up after 15-20 minutes of running time, that really rings a bell with what I went through with my Accord. Actually, in my case, it wasn't immediately obvious at all. My mechanic had to do quite a bit of testing before finding that corroded connector. He initially suspected the Flex-Ray bus too, but after running diagnostics, he traced it to that harness issue. The heat from running the car was making the connection worse, which explains why it acted up after driving for a while. Since you've got similar symptoms showing up with heat, I'd bet you're dealing with something comparable. Don't stress too much about major hybrid system issues yet, these kinds of electrical gremlins often turn out to be fairly simple connection problems. Quick tip: when you get that OBD reader out, look specifically for communication-related codes. In my case, we saw a bunch of unusual modules reporting errors, which was a big clue that it was a connection issue rather than individual system failures. Let me know what codes you find, I still have my repair paperwork somewhere and can check what codes my car was throwing if that helps compare notes!

Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! That's actually really reassuring to hear about your experience, especially the part about the heat making it worse. I finally dug out my OBD reader last night and, wouldn't you know it, I'm seeing exactly what you described, a bunch of unusual module communication errors. That definitely points toward a connection issue rather than something major with the hybrid system. I'm feeling much better about taking it to the shop now that I have a better idea of what might be going on. Going to specifically mention checking the harness connections and corrosion possibility since your case sounds so similar. Really appreciate you sharing those specifics about your repair, it's super helpful to have some direction instead of going in blind. I'll definitely update you once I get it checked out. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience, it's been incredibly helpful!
