CR Z AC Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Honda CR-Z hybrid experienced an issue where the AC was blowing warm air or not functioning at all. Initial checks showed that fuses and the AC relay were fine, leading to speculation about potential causes. Suggestions included checking the blower motor resistor and the AC compressor clutch. Ultimately, the problem was traced to defective individual valves in the AC system, which required professional repair.

Blower motor resistor, eh? Interesting. Where is that located, and is it easy to test? As for the AC compressor clutch, is there any easy way to check if that's the culprit without special tools?

Yeah, the blower motor resistor is usually near the blower motor itself, often under the dash on the passenger side. As for the clutch, listen for a click when you turn the AC on – if you don't hear it, that could be your problem. Honestly, with these hybrid systems, it might be worth biting the bullet and taking it to a workshop. Could be more complicated than it seems.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out it was a defect in the individual valves of the AC system, just as I feared. Ended up costing me around 1000€ to fix at the shop. Ouch! But at least I'm cool again.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar AC efficiency nightmare with my old Opel Corsa. The system just flat-out refused to cooperate. Did you check the blower motor resistor? That thing caused me a world of pain. Or could it be the AC compressor clutch?
