CR Z Exhaust Temperature Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Honda CR-Z hybrid was experiencing a check engine light, reduced engine power, and increased fuel consumption, with a diagnostic code indicating a faulty exhaust temperature sensor. The issue could be related to a leak in the exhaust system or sensor wiring problems. The suggested solution was to inspect the sensor wiring or have a professional replace the sensor, which resolved the problem.

Fluctuating a lot, huh? Where exactly did you find the sensor wiring on your car? I'm not super familiar with the hybrid setup, so any pointers would be great.

Yeah, if it's all over the place, that's a good sign it's the sensor. Honestly, I just took mine to a shop. It was easier than messing around with it myself. Could save you some time and headache.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I took it to my local garage, and you were spot on – it was the exhaust temperature sensor. They replaced it, and it cost me 265€. Running smoothly now!

I had a similar issue with my CR-Z. Is the temperature fluctuating a lot? That exhaust sensor can be pretty sensitive. It might be worth checking the sensor wiring first.
