Creta rough idle high fuel consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Hyundai Creta owner is experiencing rough idling, high fuel consumption, engine stalling at idle, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration. These symptoms suggest a potential issue with the mass air flow sensor. Another Creta owner confirms similar experiences and recommends having the sensor checked at a workshop. The problem is later confirmed to be a defective mass air flow sensor, which is then replaced.

Interesting. So, you experienced the same symptoms with your Creta? Did it also cause any noticeable smoke during acceleration? I want to be absolutely sure before I dive into replacing sensors.

Yes, all exactly as you describe. Given the confluence of issues and mileage, a trip to the workshop to diagnose the air flow sensor might be necessary. Better to be sure; don't want to throw parts at it.

Thanks for confirming! You pushed me in the right direction! I took it to a local workshop, they confirmed that it was a defective Mass air flow sensor and I ended up paying 365€.

I have the same model Creta. I would look into the mass air flow sensor. Those are the precise symptoms I had a while back, specifically the increased fuel consumption alongside stalling at idle, and an illuminated check engine light.
