Crew Lean Engine Symptoms
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Nissan Crew diesel is experiencing lean engine symptoms, including low power, a check engine light, rough idle, and jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion is a bad injection valve or injector. Suggestions include checking the air-fuel ratio, oxygen sensor, mass air flow sensor, and EGR valve before concluding it's the injectors. Ultimately, the issue is confirmed to be the injectors, and a professional repair resolves the problem.

Good point. I've thought about the oxygen and MAF sensors, and the EGR valve is worth checking. Can I diagnose it myself before taking it in?

You can test some sensors with resistance readings, but diagnosing an EGR valve usually needs tools to see how it works under load. Given the symptoms, a pro assessment might be best to avoid misdiagnosis.

I agree; a professional check makes sense. It turned out to be the injectors, and the repair was 515€ Thanks for the help.

Have you checked your air-fuel ratio? A faulty oxygen sensor or mass air flow sensor could cause that. Is your EGR valve working? Check those before blaming the injectors.
