Crew power steering vibration
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a 2009 Nissan Crew experiencing steering wheel vibration, spongy handling, and increased steering effort, with a power steering error detected. Despite the hydraulic fluid level being fine, the issue was suspected to be a dodgy connection. A similar problem was resolved by addressing a loose connection in an electric steering system, which required professional diagnostics. Ultimately, the problem was fixed by a mechanic who identified and repaired a faulty connector.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not 100% certain to be honest – I'll double-check. What was the problem on yours, and how did you resolve it?

Mine's electric, and yeah, sounds super similar. Turned out to be a loose connection. Needed a proper diagnostic tool to pinpoint it though, ended up going to a workshop.

Appreciate the insight. I had a look at the connections, as suggested, but no joy. Ended up taking it to my local mechanic. Faulty connector as suspected and 95€ later it’s sorted. Thanks again

Had similar symptoms on my Crew. I thought the steering rack was toast. Is it an electric steering system on yours?
