Crider Blower Motor Failure

My 2021 Honda Crider with a gasoline engine has about 80951 km. Recently, the fresh air blower stopped working. No air comes through, regardless of the speed. I scanned the car and got an error code related to the blower motor. A defective blower motor seems likely. Has anyone seen this before and can offer advice before I go to a professional?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Honda Crider's fresh air blower stopped working, with an error code indicating a blower motor issue. The problem could be a defective blower motor, but other potential causes include a faulty blower motor resistor, a blown fuse, or wiring issues. Suggested solutions include checking the blower motor resistor, fuse, and wiring for any faults. If these components are fine, professional repair may be necessary, likely involving blower motor replacement.

Sounds like a faulty blower motor. The error code confirms it. Before replacing it, check the blower motor resistor and fuse. Sometimes a blown fuse or failing resistor mimics a dead motor. Also, inspect the wiring to the blower motor. A loose connection or corroded wire could be the problem. It's like a faulty light switch – sometimes the bulb is bad, sometimes it's a loose wire.

Thanks! I didn't consider the resistor or fuse, but I checked the wiring for damage. Where would I find the blower motor resistor and fuse? Is there a specific fuse number to look for in the fuse box?

The blower motor resistor is near the blower motor, often in the air duct. It's a small, rectangular component with a connector. For the fuse, check your owner's manual for the blower motor circuit fuse number. The fuse box is usually under the dashboard or in the engine compartment. Given the error code and lack of blower function, I still suspect the motor. But check the fuse and resistor first. If those are fine, visit a workshop. They'll confirm and replace the motor. Expect around 365€ for the repair.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions and for the fuse and resistor locations. The light switch analogy helped. I checked the resistor and fuse, but they're fine. I'm going to the workshop well-prepared now.
