Croma cruise control failure

Hi, I have a 2008 Fiat Croma with a gasoline engine and the cruise control has stopped working. The speedometer shows an error message, and the cruise control is completely unresponsive. An error is also stored in the error memory. Could a defective cable or plug connection really cause this?

Summary of the thread

The 2008 Fiat Croma's cruise control stopped working, displaying an error message on the speedometer and storing an error in the memory. The issue was suspected to be caused by a defective cable or plug connection. After investigation, it was confirmed that a defective cable was indeed the cause, and the repair cost was 95€.

I had a similar issue with my Croma. Was there any recent work done around the steering wheel or throttle body? Maybe check the fuse box first, just in case it's something simple.

No recent work done. Where exactly is the fuse box, and which fuse should I be looking at specifically?

The fuse box is usually under the dashboard or in the engine compartment. Honestly, without diagnostics, it's hard to pinpoint the exact fuse. Given the error message and stored error, I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. I bet they will find something with the diagnostic tool

Ok, thanks for the advice. It turned out to be a defective cable, just like they said. Repair cost 95€.
