Croma Intake Manifold Flap Control
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Fiat Croma diesel was experiencing reduced power, rough running, jerking during acceleration, a loud hissing noise, and increased fuel consumption. These issues were suspected to be related to the intake manifold flap control. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that the intake manifold flap control was indeed the problem. Replacing the faulty component resolved the issues, restoring the car's performance.

Airflow control system? Could you elaborate? Where should I be looking, and what am I looking for?

I'm no mechanic, but the issue was related to the intake manifold. If the intake manifold flap control is defective, it will affect engine performance. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for proper diagnosis.

Took it to a workshop, and it was the intake manifold flap control! A new switch and 465€ later, it's running great. Thanks for the pointer!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Croma. Reduced power and rough running were definitely there. Have you checked the airflow control system? It might be worth a look.
