Croma intermittent starting problem
Summary of the thread
The 2005 Fiat Croma diesel is experiencing intermittent starting issues and engine shut-offs, with rough running before stalling. The problem might be related to the ignition switch, as fuses are confirmed to be fine. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the ignition switch, which successfully restored normal starting and eliminated stalling and rough running.

Thanks! It does seem more frequent in colder weather. I haven't checked the starter motor relay specifically. Any idea where I could find a diagram, or where it's located? Also, is the starting issue always present when turning the ignition key?

Unfortunately, I don't have a diagram. In my case, it got progressively worse until it was constant. I took it to a local workshop. Replacing the ignition switch solved the problem.

Appreciate the advice! A workshop visit seemed inevitable. I had the ignition switch replaced for 52€. The car is now starting normally, without any engine stall or rough running issues. Thanks again!

I had something similar with my Croma. Does it happen more when it's cold? Have you checked the starter motor relay, or do you have problems starting the car when you turn the ignition key?
