Croma mirror heating failure
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Fiat Croma owner experienced a failure in the mirror heating on both sides, with fuses appearing intact. An error from VCDS indicated a problem with the mirror heating circuit, suggesting a faulty cable or plug connection. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a corroded connector inside the mirror housing. The solution for the Croma involved repairing a corroded connector and damaged wiring in the door harness, which was successfully fixed at a workshop.

Thanks for the insight! The error code doesn't specify a particular side, just the overall mirror heating circuit. Where exactly inside the mirror housing did you find the corroded connector on your Astra? Was it difficult to access?

It was a while ago, but from memory, I had to carefully pry the mirror glass out. The connector was right behind it, attached to the heating element itself. It wasn't too difficult, just be careful not to break the mirror glass. Given that both mirrors are affected on your Croma, it might be a shared connector or wiring further upstream. Probably best to bring it to a workshop.

Appreciate the advice. Sounds like a deeper dive than I initially anticipated. I took it to my local shop, and it was indeed a corroded connector and damaged wiring in the door harness. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, although it was just the driver's side mirror. In my case, it turned out to be a corroded connector inside the mirror housing itself. Was the error code specific about which mirror is affected or does it refer to a general circuit?
