Cronos engine stalling at idle
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Fiat Cronos with a gasoline engine is experiencing stalling issues at idle, particularly after longer drives, accompanied by a check engine light. The suspected causes include a faulty fuel tank ventilation valve and clogged hoses. After consulting with others who had similar issues, it was confirmed that the problem was indeed the tank ventilation valve and clogged hoses, which were subsequently repaired, resolving the stalling issue.

Thanks for your reply! Starting isn't usually a problem, it starts up quickly every time. The stalling only happens at idle, and only after the car has been running for a while. Did you find that yours was also fine when you first started it up?

Yeah, mine was the same! Cold starts were never an issue. It was only after it warmed up that it started acting up. Honestly, I'd recommend getting it checked out at a workshop. It could be something minor, but better safe than sorry. It was the tank ventilation for me.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local shop, and you were right! It was indeed the tank ventilation valve. Apparently, some hoses were clogged, just as I suspected. They replaced the valve and cleaned the hoses, and now it's running smoothly again. The repair cost me about 175€. Thanks again for your help!

Hey! I had something similar happen with my Cronos. The check engine light was driving me crazy, and sometimes it felt like the engine wanted to quit at stoplights. I was pretty sure it had something to do with the emission system. Was it hard to start as well?
