Cronos weak brakes sensor error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Fiat Cronos owner experienced weak brakes and a sensor error related to the brake booster pressure sensor. The issue was suspected to be caused by a bad brake bleed or a faulty sensor. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that the brake booster pressure sensor was faulty, likely due to a minor bleed issue from the factory. The sensor was replaced, and the system was re-bled, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! No, the brake system hasn't been touched recently. The brake pedal feels normal, not spongy at all. Is there any easy way to check if it's definitely a bleeding issue, or could it be something else entirely?

Okay, if the pedal feels normal, it might not be solely a bleeding issue. However, since you have the error code pointing to the brake booster sensor, and you're experiencing poor braking, it's highly likely the sensor is faulty or there's an underlying issue within the brake system affecting the sensor readings. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop with diagnostic tools to properly assess the ABS system and brake hydraulics. Replacement parts are usually needed in this case.

You were spot on! Took it to the workshop, and it was the brake booster pressure sensor, likely caused by a minor bleed issue from the factory. They replaced the sensor, re-bled the system, and now it's perfect. Cost me 90€ for the fix. Thanks a bunch for the help!

That definitely sounds like a brake booster issue on your Cronos. Weak braking and sensor errors are common symptoms. Incorrect bleeding can introduce air into the system, messing with the pressure readings. Has the brake system been worked on recently? ABS system glitches sometimes show similar symptoms as well. Keep an eye on your brake pedal feel; is it spongy?
