Crossland X AC Failure

Thanks for the quick response. You mentioned your AC compressor was the culprit. Could you explain the diagnostic process that led to that conclusion? Were there any specific tests or readings that confirmed the compressor's failure?

The mechanic initially suspected a refrigerant leak, but after a pressure test, that was ruled out. Further diagnostics revealed that the compressor wasn't engaging, despite receiving power. They then performed a resistance test on the compressor clutch, which failed. Honestly, at that point, I just took their word for it and authorized the repair. Looking back, I probably should have pressed for more details. If you're not comfortable with DIY diagnostics, I'd suggest taking it to a trusted workshop for a thorough assessment. It ended up costing me around 980€ to get it all sorted out.

Thanks for the detailed explanation and the cost estimate; it’s immensely helpful. Based on your experience and the information I've gathered, I'll schedule an appointment with a reputable workshop for a comprehensive diagnosis and repair. Hopefully, it will be as straightforward as replacing the AC compressor, and I won't encounter any further complications.

I have a Crossland X, though I can’t remember the year right now, and your issue sounds very familiar. I had almost exactly the same symptoms a while back: no cooling, warning lights, the works. Did you happen to check the refrigerant pressure? In my case, the AC compressor was the culprit.
