Crossland X Incorrect Vehicle Coding

I've got a 2017 Vauxhall Crossland X, gasoline engine, with a bit of a head-scratcher. Mileage is at 207515 km. I keep getting error messages – one shows in the infotainment system, another in the speedometer. Plugged in an OBD-II scanner and it flags a fault code. Could it really be that the vehicle's coding is incorrect? Anyone else run into something similar?

Sounds familiar. I had almost the same thing happen with my old Volvo a while back. Same error messages and everything. Did the codes point to anything specific, or are they just generic faults?

The codes themselves didn't scream out a specific component failure, just a general system error related to coding. What was the issue in your Volvo? Did the problem eventually escalate?

In my case, yeah, the Volvo ended up needing a proper re-coding at the workshop. It seems some module got its settings scrambled somehow. Best bet is to take it in; generic readers sometimes don't give you the full picture.

Thanks, I appreciate the input. I took it to a workshop. You called it – incorrect vehicle coding was indeed the culprit! Cost me 360€ to get it sorted, but at least the error messages are gone.
