Crossland X Running Rich

Experiencing issues with my 2021 Vauxhall Crossland X, gasoline engine. It's done 65776 km. The engine seems to be running far too rich, leading to reduced engine power, check engine light, rough running, higher fuel consumption, and jerking when accelerating. Spark plugs are fine. I suspect a defective injection valve or injector. Worried about catalytic converter damage, what do you think?

I had a similar issue with my Crossland X: check engine light, rough running, and high fuel consumption. Have you checked for any leaks around the intake manifold? That was my first thought.

Thanks. I didn’t check the intake manifold specifically. Was the rich mixture the problem you experienced, and if so, how did you resolve it?

Yes, it was indeed running rich. I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was a faulty injector. Replacing it sorted the problem out completely. I'd recommend getting it checked professionally to avoid further complications.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I took it to the workshop, and after diagnosis, you were right. One of the injection valves had failed. The repair cost me 515€, but at least the car runs as expected again.
