CrosslandX AC Failure

My 2019 Vauxhall CrosslandX with a gasoline engine is playing up. The AC's packed it in completely. No cooling at all, and the system just won't switch on. I've checked the AC relay and fuses, all seem fine. My gut feeling? It's those pesky individual valves inside the AC unit. Anyone else had this bother?

I've got a CrosslandX too, and your issue sounds painfully familiar. I had similar symptoms last summer – the air con just gave up the ghost. Did you notice any strange noises coming from the AC compressor before it failed completely?

Strange noises... hmmm, I can't say I specifically remember anything out of the ordinary. Did yours conk out completely and refuse to switch on too? Any idea what the actual fault was in the end? I'm trying to gauge how deep this rabbit hole goes!

Yep, mine went totally kaput. Wouldn't switch on, no cold air whatsoever. After a thorough inspection, my mechanic confirmed it was indeed a valve issue within the AC system itself. Unfortunately, it's not a simple fix; you're probably looking at a complete replacement or a very specialized repair. Best to get it properly diagnosed by a garage.

Sounds like I'm facing the same fate. Bit the bullet and took it to a local garage; diagnosis confirms faulty valves. Quoted 1000€ for the repair – ouch! At least I know where I stand now.
