CrosslandX Brake Feedback

My 2023 Vauxhall CrosslandX diesel is giving me a headache. Done 159207 km and the brakes are acting up. Getting strange feedback from the brake pedal – feels kinda spongy. Could it be something simple like needing new brake pads, or is it something more sinister lurking in the brake system? Anyone else had this?

I had a similar issue with my CrosslandX. What kind of strange feedback are you experiencing? Is it a consistent problem, or does it only happen under certain conditions? Have you checked your brake fluid level recently? It may be worth checking the brake shoes too.

Thanks for the reply! By strange feedback, I mean the pedal feels really soft and I have to press it down further than usual to get the same braking power. It's pretty consistent, happens most of the time. Brake fluid level seems okay, but haven't checked the brake shoes yet. Could it really be something as simple as worn brake shoes causing all this weirdness?

While worn brake shoes could contribute, the consistent soft pedal suggests a potential issue beyond just the shoes. If the fluid level is correct, there may be a deeper issue with the system. I strongly suggest taking it to a reputable workshop for a thorough inspection. Safety first, especially with brakes.

Took your advice and got the CrosslandX into the workshop. Turns out it was undervoltage in the vehicle that somehow messed with the braking system. They sorted it out and it cost me 240€. Thanks for the help!
