CrosslandX electronic parking brake fault

My 2020 Vauxhall CrosslandX diesel has developed an electronic parking brake fault at 231626 km. The handbrake is non-functional, an error is stored, and the warning light is on. I suspect a defective electric motor in the brake calliper. Any thoughts?

Interesting. I had a similar electronic parking brake issue on my Volvo a while back. Symptoms were almost identical. Did you check the brake switch and sensor?

Thanks for the input. Which brake sensor do you mean specifically? I checked the obvious ones, but perhaps I missed something.

In my case, it was difficult to say, honestly. I'm not sure whether you can check it on your own. The Volvo was showing similar symptoms and I ended up at the workshop. Unfortunately, in my experience with these types of issues, it's often best to get a professional diagnosis.

Thanks. I appreciate the input. Indeed, workshop confirmed electric motor in brake calliper defective. Repair cost: 505€.
