CrosslandX Glow Plug Issue

My 2020 diesel Vauxhall CrosslandX (234093km) has an issue: the preheating lamp on the dashboard doesn't switch off after starting. Error memory suggests a defective glow plug. Could this be the cause, and what are the implications for fuel efficiency or potential engine misfires?

Hey! I had a similar issue with my CrosslandX. The preheating light stayed on, and the engine light popped up eventually. Check engine was screaming at me! Is it running rough? Could be a dodgy glow plug. They're a pain, but relatively cheap to replace.

Did you experience any noticeable changes in engine performance or fuel consumption before fixing the glow plug? How long did you drive with the preheating lamp illuminated before resolving it?

Yeah, I noticed a bit of a drop in fuel efficiency and a slight engine misfire, especially when starting from cold. Didn't drive it for long like that though, maybe a week? I’d get it checked ASAP. Probably just a glow plug, but best to be sure before it causes more issues. Workshop time, I reckon!

The workshop confirmed a defective glow plug and replaced it. The total cost was 440€. Thanks for sharing your experience; it helped diagnose the issue.
