CrosslandX Poor Start Reduced Power
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Vauxhall CrosslandX with a gasoline engine is experiencing poor starting and reduced power, with an error stored in the memory. The initial suspicion is a camshaft sensor issue, possibly related to a cable or plug defect. It is suggested to also check the crankshaft position sensor, as faults in this sensor can affect camshaft timing. The problem was resolved by repairing the defective cable and plug of the camshaft sensor, restoring the car's performance.

Interesting. So, you think it's worth checking the crankshaft position sensor alongside the camshaft sensor? Is that a common interaction?

Yes, definitely worth checking both. In my case, the crankshaft sensor fault triggered the camshaft sensor issue. If you don't have the tools or know-how, probably best to get it checked at a workshop.

Thanks for the advice. You were spot on. Took it to a shop; the cable and plug of the camshaft sensor were defective; repair cost 95€. Car runs smoothly again.

Sounds familiar. Had similar symptoms on my old Volvo V70. Check engine light came on, rough idling. Turned out to be a faulty crankshaft position sensor which messed with the camshaft timing.
